6 L Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Yellow Cylinder
A 6 litre breathing apparatus with a yellow cylinder that makes the wearer easy to spot in smoke.
Description
This open-circuit, compressed-air breathing apparatus is designed for shipboard firefighting teams. It gives the wearer an independent air supply in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH), such as smoke, toxic gas or oxygen deficiency. The bright yellow cylinder helps team mates identify the wearer quickly in poor visibility. The composite cylinder holds air at 300 bar. When the pressure drops to 50-60 bar, a warning whistle sounds to alert the wearer in good time. The silicone full face mask covers the eyes, nose, mouth and chin and adapts to different face sizes. Its polycarbonate visor resists scratches, impact and heat, and a speech diaphragm keeps communication clear. The positive-pressure demand valve opens with the first breath, fits with a quick connector and includes a bypass. The light, high-strength back plate is non-flammable, anti-static and non-conductive. The set comprises back plate, harness, cylinder connector, regulator, pressure gauge, warning whistle and demand valve. Available with a steel or carbon fibre cylinder, digital pressure gauge, communication mask and adjustable back plate as options.
