Semi Chemical Protective Suit, for Use with SCBA
A semi chemical protective suit worn with a breathing apparatus, resistant to chemical splashes, heat and flame.
Description
Protects firefighters and emergency personnel from chemical splashes, hazardous liquids, heat and flame during fire and chemical incidents. Made from flame-resistant rubberised fabric that does not melt or drip but only chars. Designed to be worn together with a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), combining chemical protection with an independent air supply in contaminated or oxygen-deficient atmospheres. Completed with gloves and boots into a full set. In laboratory tests its rubberised fabric showed no permeation after one hour in 80% sulphuric acid, 60% nitric acid, 30% hydrochloric acid and 6.1 mol/L sodium hydroxide. The nylon base fabric gives the coating high breaking and tear strength. Service life is 5 years when stored as specified.
